MAA The Place To Play!

2010 Top 10 Registration Questions and Answers

1. How do I know what league to register my child for?

MAA Softball sets the age restriction for each league by the player's current grade as of May 1, 2010.
The grade your child is currently in is the league your child is eligible to register for.

2. Can my child play up a year?

Per MAA Softball's league rules, a player has the option to play up one grade year at the discretion of the player's family.

3. Do I need to turn in a birth certificate to MAA?

Effective for the 2010 Season, softball players are no longer required to submit a birth certificate as part of registration. MAA does, however, reserve the right to verify a player's age via a birth certificate should an issue arise.

4. What is the length of the 2010 Season?

The anticipated length of the 2010 Season is approximately 10 weeks. This will depend largely on the size of each league and, of course, weather.

5. When does the season start?

We anticipate the 2010 In-House Season starting approximately May 1st.

6. When will my child's games be and how many will there be?

Simply put, each league is different. Do to certain field capacity restrictions (number of games per day) this question is not easily answered until after all teams are formed.
However, for a general idea, you may reference to last year's schedule. This can be found by clicking "Schedules" at the, selecting "2009," and finally selecting your child's division they will be participating in this season. Again, this will give you a general idea of what the schedule was like for your child's new league last year.

7. Can I make a special request for my child? (particular coach, friends, etc)

Yes! When you are registering your child there is a space reserved for special requests. MAA Softball will attempt to fulfill all requests, however, there are instance where some requests cannot be honored.

8. Are the multiple grades combined?

MAA Softball typically combines two grades to form a "league," unless each respective grade has enough players to support splitting the grades apart. This will be determined on March 1st when registration totals are reviewed.

9. What will I need to supply my child?

MAA Softball supplies each player with a uniform shirt and hat. In addition coaches are provided with an equipment bag with batting helmets and catching equipment.
Additional uniform items and protective/playing equipment need to be supplied either by the player's family or the player's team.

10. If I am a coach, how can I put a team roster together?

MAA Softball supplies a roster form on our website. Please click HERE to access this form. Please complete this form with your player's names and submit it to the office.
